16-Year-Old Girl Pleads for Sponsorship to Give Birth Abroad After Boyfriend Denies Pregnancy

A 16-year-old girl’s plea for assistance to give birth abroad has sparked a heated debate on social media, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians and beyond.

The teenager, in an anonymous Instagram message addressed to a woman identified as “Ma Rita”, revealed she was pregnant but claimed her boyfriend had denied responsibility.

Despite the denial, she expressed unwavering faith in God’s plan, stating that her primary concern was not the paternity dispute.

Instead, she disclosed that her greatest wish was to have her first child delivered outside Nigeria a lifelong dream she is determined to fulfil. She appealed to well-meaning individuals to sponsor her delivery abroad, believing it would be a significant milestone in her life.

“Ma, I’ve always dreamt of delivering my first child abroad. Please, I need someone who will sponsor my delivery outside the country so as to fulfil my dreams,” part of her message read.

Her request quickly went viral after being shared online, triggering a wave of reactions. Some social media users expressed sympathy for her situation, offering words of encouragement and urging her to focus on her health. Others, however, criticised her priorities, questioning why overseas childbirth seemed more important than addressing her welfare and that of the baby.

The story has reignited discussions about teenage pregnancy, the role of parental guidance, and the growing influence of social media on young people’s ambitions. Critics say the case underscores the urgent need for better education and awareness about reproductive health among Nigerian teenagers.
