2027: Adeyanju Applauds Atiku, Obi, David Mark Over Mega Opposition Merger — “PDP Is Finally Dead”
Nigerian activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju has hailed the newly formed opposition coalition involving key political figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and David Mark, declaring it the final nail in the coffin for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
In a move to present a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections, prominent PDP figures reportedly adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as their new political platform. The alliance is seen as a major strategic shift in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“I’m happy PDP is finally dead,” Adeyanju wrote in a Facebook post.
“I’m proud of the opposition for coming together finally. Special thanks to Atiku, Obi, and other top opposition leaders for putting aside their personal ambition to make this happen. I hope Kwankwaso will also do the same.
This is what they should have done in 2023. Whenever you wake up is your morning. Good morning to the opposition.”
Adeyanju’s reaction followed the announcement of the coalition, which aims to rally support under one political umbrella to challenge the dominance of the APC in 2027.
The coalition includes former presidential candidates and seasoned politicians, signalling a significant reorganization within Nigeria’s opposition bloc.
The formation of this coalition could reshape the dynamics of the upcoming general election, providing a stronger alternative to the ruling party.
It also signals the possible end of PDP’s influence, as many of its key players are now shifting allegiance.
