2027 Elections: PDP Urges Members in Ovwian Ward 7 to Resist Pressure to Join APC

:Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ovwian Ward 7, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, have cautioned their members against being lured into joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

During a meeting at the Ovwian Community Town Hall, the PDP leaders emphasized the importance of unity and loyalty to the party as they work to reclaim political control from the local to national level.

Former PDP Ward 7 leader, Odjeku Matthew Uparan, expressed disappointment that some individuals the party welcomed are now trying to mislead loyal members.

He reassured the gathering of the leaders’ commitment to the party, urging everyone to remain steadfast.

“There is no other party for us in Ward 7 except the PDP,” Uparan said. “If anyone from the APC approaches you, tell them to remain in their party while we remain in ours.”

Similarly, party chieftain Lawson A. Oghoifo accused former members who defected to the APC of previously causing unrest within the PDP.

He stated their exit has brought relief and stability to the party.“We’re not going anywhere. We’re not thieves, and only those with something to hide are on the run. We stand firm in the PDP,” Oghoifo added.
