2027: Tinubu’s Re-election Certain, Says Interior Minister Tunji-Ojo

The Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general elections is “a done deal,” citing massive grassroots support across the country, especially in Ondo State.

Tunji-Ojo made the remark in Abuja while receiving a delegation from the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu (GMT), led by its Director of Corporate Affairs, Hon. Bayowa Foresythe, who presented him with a letter of appreciation on behalf of the group’s National Director-General, Hon. Bisi Yusuf.

The Minister emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilisation, noting that President Tinubu continues to enjoy overwhelming support nationwide. He assured that Ondo State would remain a stronghold of loyalty for the President.

“We must put in our best to support Mr. President. I cannot sit in Abuja and fail to extend support to my people in Ondo, whether through grassroots mobilisation, party activities, or programmes that ease the suffering of the people,” he said.

According to him, independent support groups like GMT play a crucial role in harnessing goodwill for the ruling party, stressing that every single vote will count in securing Tinubu’s return in 2027.

He also commended the Ondo State leadership of GMT, led by Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye and Hon. Rasheed Badmus, for their dedication to mobilising support and sustaining pro-Tinubu programmes in the state.

In his remarks, Hon. Foresythe praised the Minister for his consistent financial and moral support to the group in Ondo, describing him as a key pillar of GMT’s success. He noted that Tunji-Ojo’s interventions had helped sustain grassroots activities, including the ongoing “Jingi Asiwaju” free medical outreach across senatorial districts in the state.

Foresythe also lauded Tunji-Ojo for reforms in the Ministry of Interior, particularly improvements in passport processing, which he described as “a legacy worthy of recognition.”
