48-Year-Old Teacher Found Dead in Classroom at King’s College, Lagos
A 48-year-old teacher, Mr. Ezekiel Akano, was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a classroom at King’s College, Lagos, on Saturday evening.
The tragic discovery was made by staff members around 7:40 p.m., after school hours. According to reports, the Vice Principal of the school, Mr. Oguniyi Ayodele, immediately notified the Lagos State Police Command.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the incident via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, cited police sources confirming that detectives were promptly deployed to the scene at No. 3 Catholic Mission Street, Lagos Island.
Preliminary investigations revealed no visible signs of violence on the deceased. The area was cordoned off, and photographs were taken as part of the police’s forensic procedures.
Mr. Akano, a native of Oyo State, was transported to the Lagos Island General Hospital in Odan, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead on arrival. His body has since been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The Lagos State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the incident. However, as of the time of this report, efforts by journalists to reach the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, for an official statement were unsuccessful.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the school community, where the late Mr. Akano was regarded as a committed educator.
Authorities have assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to uncover the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
