Restoration of peace in Benue APC achieved through dissolution and establishment of caretaker committee, says Forum.

The North Central APC Elders Forum has expressed their satisfaction with the dissolution and constitution of the Caretaker Committee in Benue, stating that it has brought peace to both the party and governance in the state.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) recently removed Augustine Agada as the leader of the party in Benue. Despite a restraining order from the Benue State High Court, the national leadership of the party also disbanded the State Working Committee, which was led by Augustine Agada.

The national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, announced the dissolution and appointed a seven-man caretaker committee at the party’s National Secretariat, with a term of six months.

Senator Ameh Ebute, the Chairman of the North Central APC Elders Forum and former President of the Senate, released a statement commending Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his efforts in resolving the conflicts within the APC in the region. The forum considered Sule’s recent courtesy visit to Ganduje in Abuja to discuss the interests of the North Central Geo-political zone as a positive step.

The forum also praised the establishment of the National Progressives Institute by the Ganduje-led National Working Committee, urging that the North Central zone be included in the leadership of the Institute, which is soon to be unveiled by the party.
