President Tinubu Addresses Rivers LG Election Violence

President Bola Tinubu expressed concern over reports of arson and explosions following the Rivers State local government elections. He urged political actors to de-escalate tensions and instructed the police to restore peace and order.

Tinubu emphasized the need to safeguard public institutions and warned against vandalism. He stressed that the judiciary can settle political disputes, and encouraged parties to seek legal resolution.

The president’s statement came after the All Progressives Party (APP) backed by Governor Fubara swept all 23 local council elections, prompting inauguration on Sunday.
