Miss Nigeria 2024 Pageant Kicks Off with Exciting Sashing Ceremony
The journey to the crown has officially begun for contestants of the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant, with a recent sashing ceremony marking the exciting start of this year’s competition.
The ceremony took place at Lavella Restaurant in Lagos, where 33 contestants representing Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones proudly received their sashes.
Hosted by actress Nancy Isime, the sashing ceremony celebrated not only the beauty of the contestants but also their cultural diversity and social impact.
Rita Dominic-Anosike, Chairman of the Miss Nigeria Board, and former Miss Nigeria Wunmi Ogunbiyi addressed the contestants, offering words of encouragement as they prepare for the final stage of the pageant.
Dominic-Anosike expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their support, emphasizing that their contributions are vital, especially amid economic challenges. Sponsors for this year’s pageant include Mikano International, MTN, and Austin and Partners.
This year’s edition, themed Beyond Beauty: Reigning Together as Queens, aims to promote unity, diversity, and empowerment among Nigerian women. Contestants will undergo a two-week grooming camp filled with mentorship and training activities in preparation for the grand finale.
Dominic-Anosike highlighted that this year’s pageant is not just a beauty contest but a movement aimed at fostering national unity and showcasing the strength and intelligence of Nigerian women. She stated, We want to inspire unity. Regardless of where you are from, it is possible to embrace one another.
The grand finale is set to take place on December 19, 2024, at The Royal Box Event Center in Victoria Island, Lagos. As anticipation builds for this significant event, both participants and fans are eager to see who will be crowned the new Miss Nigeria.
With the sash ceremony behind them, contestants are now focused on their preparations for what promises to be a transformative moment in the history of the Miss Nigeria pageant.
