Zamfara Governor: PDP’s Current Crisis Will Strengthen the Party.

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State asserts that the ongoing turmoil within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will ultimately fortify the opposition group.

During a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde on February 2, 2025, Lawal emphasized the need for the PDP to learn from its past errors, pointing to a recent meeting of party governors in Delta State that underscored the PDP’s commitment to reclaiming its position.

He expressed confidence in the party’s resilience, reiterating its support for Sunday Ude-Okoye as the National Secretary, in line with a recent Appeal Court ruling in Enugu State.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser (Media), Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Lawal reflected on the party’s internal challenges, stating, “In politics, there are always issues.

The developments in Delta indicate we are making progress and reconnecting with the electorate.”

Lawal affirmed the leadership role of the governors within the party, asserting, “The ongoing crisis is commonplace in politics and will ultimately make us stronger as we learn from these experiences.”

On the significance of his visit, Lawal remarked, “Governor Makinde is a dear friend, and it is my duty to support him and his family during this difficult time. We stand together in mourning.”
