Turmoil in Kano APC as Minister Opposes Ganduje’s Preferred Candidate.

A crisis has emerged within the Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Atta, openly opposed the party chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, who has been endorsed by National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

During a meeting of the Fagge APC Caucus in Kano, Atta expressed concerns that the party would struggle to reclaim the state from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) under Abbas’s leadership.

He accused Ganduje of attempting to impose Abbas for another term, despite Abbas previously holding the chairmanship for nearly a decade.Atta claimed that while the party won the gubernatorial election in 2023, they ultimately lost due to a failure in their faith.

He warned that he would consider leaving the party if leadership does not change, asserting, “If they bring him back, we will leave.

The party will surely fail again.” He further elaborated that falsehoods and fraud had tainted their electoral victory, and that divine will played a role in their ultimate defeat. He stated, “Votes do not give power, money cannot buy power, and even the people do not ultimately decide who rules.”
