Lagos PDP Factions Unite Their Efforts to Challenge APC in 2027 Elections.
In a significant turn of events, factions within the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have chosen to set aside their differences and collaborate for the greater interest of the party.
This decision was made during a reconciliation meeting hosted at the residence of Alhaji Muritala Ashorobi, the party’s inaugural chairman in Lagos, who also chairs the Reconciliation Committee.
Key figures at the meeting included Chief Olabode George, former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP; Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, a former Minister of Cooperation and Integration; Mrs. Aduke Maina, a former Board of Trustees member; current state Chairman Mr. Philip Aivoji, Captain Tunji Shelle (retd), Alhaji Ramoni Owokoniran, Dr. Niran Adeniji, and various members of the Reconciliation Committee and State Executive.
In a statement issued after the gathering, the leaders pledged to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 elections.
They encouraged unity among party members and emphasized the need for mobilization across all 20 local government areas in Lagos to achieve this goal.
The communique further warned against members engaging in covert collaborations with the APC, asserting that such actions would not be tolerated moving forward.
They expressed that the APC has significantly failed Nigerians and must be defeated in the 2027 elections.
