“IPOB Launches Awareness Drive to End Sit-at-Home Order in South-East”
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has initiated an extensive campaign across the South-East region by distributing flyers to raise awareness about its commitment to discontinuing the sit-at-home order. This initiative comes as the group firmly dissociated itself from Simon Ekpa, the self-imposed prime minister of the Biafran government in exile, reiterating that any individual attempting to enforce the sit-at-home directive would face consequences.
IPOB, through its Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, conveyed its message on Saturday, stating, “We wish to inform Biafrans about the widespread distribution of flyers and posters across Biafraland, conveying our leader’s resolute decision to revoke the Monday sit-at-home. It’s essential for the people of Biafra to understand that the sit-at-home practice is not only defunct but will no longer serve as a tool for dissent in our pursuit of self-determination.”
Addressing the issue of individuals advocating for a non-existent sit-at-home, the statement firmly declared, “Anyone promoting such activities is an adversary of the people and will face appropriate consequences. Our revered leader and unwavering liberator, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, authorized the distribution of these flyers and posters.”
IPOB emphasized that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had unequivocally directed the permanent cessation of the Monday sit-at-home tradition in the region.
The statement also denounced certain elements falsely associating themselves with Biafra’s cause. It stated, “These individuals are not aligned with the objective of restoring Biafra or securing the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is unjustly held in solitary confinement by the DSS in Abuja, Nigeria. Those who claim to operate a Biafra government in exile from Finland, often referred to as autopilot, are not IPOB members. Their actions do not reflect the views of Supreme Leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the wider IPOB membership, or the dedicated ESN operatives.”
IPOB’s determined campaign to discontinue the sit-at-home order reflects its dedication to fostering a united front and focused approach in its pursuit of self-determination.
