Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the main preacher at Harvesters International Christian Centre, has faced criticism for inviting the renowned Afrobeat singer Spyro to perform at the church’s Christmas Carol event.

On December 17, 2023, the church’s Lekki branch in Lagos held a Christmas Carol that generated a range of reactions.

In addition to Spyro, other notable personalities slated to participate in this year’s Carol include Daniel Effiong, Bisola Ayeola, Dorathy Bachor, Sharon Ooja, Uzor Arukwe, Adeh Gbolahan, and Kenneth Ophopho, as indicated on the promotional flyer.

The pastor enthusiastically announced the event on his Instagram page, expressing his anticipation by saying, “I can’t wait for this!” The Carol is scheduled to commence in less than an hour from now.
