Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu Urges Governments to Prioritize Security and Youth Development
The member representing Enugu North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Sam Atu, has called on governments across all spheres to prioritize the issues of security and youth development.
Hon. Atu made this call on Friday during the first edition of the Enugu Youths Investment Summit held at the Base Landmark Event Centre, Independence Layout, Enugu.
He stated that these two key issues work in tandem and cannot be addressed in isolation. To curb security challenges, the youth must be empowered and given alternative means of survival, which would, in turn, mitigate our security challenges and create an enabling environment for businesses to grow.
He posited that any fight against insecurity without a proportionate war against youth unemployment is akin to achieving nothing, as it would mean pouring water on top of a stone.
At the said program, Hon. Atu commended the efforts of the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Enugu State Chapter, led by Comrade Chukwuebuka Bartholomew Okoh, for organizing the program and urged other key stakeholders in the state to partner with the organization.
He also reiterated his commitment to giving his constituents quality representation and ensuring that they get what is due to them.
