Fat Joe, a hip-hop icon, has made a bold statement about Chris Brown’s potential, suggesting that he could have reached the same legendary status as Michael Jackson if not for a controversial incident with Rihanna early in his career.

On his podcast, “The Biggest Fat Joe,” Fat Joe praised Chris Brown as the most gifted singer, songwriter, and performer of his generation, implying that his talent is on par with the King of Pop’s.

Fat Joe said:

“If Chris Brown never got into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson right now. He’s the most talented singer, artist, performer and hitmaker of our time. There’s nobody even close to Chris Brown.

“And it’s time we move past it [his controversy with Rihanna]. It has been over 20 years and there is no more similar incident against him. What I’m trying to say is that it’s a shame that we’re lying and we’re not giving it up to the King of R&B.”
