‘I will always stand with the people’ – Simi

Nigerian singer Simi has publicly declared her support for the ongoing nationwide protests against hunger and poor governance.

The protests, which started on August 1, 2024, and are scheduled to last for 10 days, have seen many Nigerians take to the streets to demand change.

The demonstrations have sparked a lively debate on social media, with some criticizing celebrities for not using their influence to support the movement.

In response to these criticisms, Simi has spoken out in solidarity with the protesters, joining the chorus of voices calling for an end to bad governance.

By doing so, she has become one of the few celebrities to openly support the #EndBadGovernance movement.

She wrote;

“I will ALWAYS stand with my people #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria.”
