ADC Lawmaker Leke Abejide Declares Support for APC in 2027 Presidential Election

Leke Joseph Abejide, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) representing Kogi State in the House of Representatives, has announced he will support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 presidential election instead of his own party or the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking in a TikTok interview, Abejide was asked if he would publicly urge voters to back the APC rather than the ADC in 2027. He responded affirmatively, arguing that his choice was driven by political realism.

“Do you want my people to waste their votes by voting for people who can’t produce anything?” he asked.

When questioned about whether ADC members were aware of his stance, Abejide said yes, noting that the party chairman had previously supported Peter Obi of the Labour Party. He added that during presidential elections, ADC members often pursue varied political interests.

His remarks have triggered widespread reactions online, with some commenters backing his position and others criticising it as a betrayal of party loyalty.
