ADC Tells APC: Stop Acting Like an Opposition Party, Face Governance
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called out the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing it of behaving like an opposition party rather than the party in power.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the APC has resorted to personal attacks and distractions to deflect attention from the failures of President Tinubu’s administration.
The ADC urged the ruling party to face its responsibilities and provide answers to the challenges facing Nigerians, including widespread insecurity, economic collapse, and national disunity. The statement criticized the APC’s focus on verbal attacks, particularly targeting opposition voices and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
According to the ADC, the APC has embraced propaganda over performance and insults over introspection. The party warned that while narratives can be twisted, the facts on ground remain unchanged millions of Nigerians are grappling with hunger, joblessness, and despair.
The statement expressed concern over the APC’s unwillingness to engage meaningfully with the real issues. It emphasized that a party that controls the presidency, both chambers of the National Assembly, and national resources should not continue to act like an opposition group.
The ADC reminded the ruling party that Nigerians are not interested in political gamesmanship but in concrete solutions to the nation’s pressing problems.
