Ahmed Musa Pledges to Rebuild Kano Pillars to Former Glory

Super Eagles veteran and former Leicester City forward, Ahmed Musa, has pledged a bold new chapter for Kano Pillars Football Club, vowing to return the club to its former glory as one of Africa’s football giants.

Musa, who was recently appointed General Manager of the four-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, made the commitment during a familiarisation meeting with the club’s board, chaired by Alhaji Ali Umar, in Kano on Monday.

In a statement released by the club’s Media and Communications Directorate, the ex-CSKA Moscow star expressed his determination to work with all stakeholders to reposition the club for success.

“Kano Pillars is our club and one of the most successful in Nigeria, but in recent years, the story has changed,” Musa said.
“With the support of the board and everyone involved, I will do everything possible to rebuild the team and make it one of the finest not just in Nigeria, but across Africa.”

Drawing from his wealth of experience in European football and international tournaments, Musa emphasized that unity, professionalism, and dedication would be critical to achieving lasting transformation.

He noted that while the club has faced significant challenges in recent years, a strategic and collective approach would revive its winning culture and attract both fans and investors.

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State had earlier approved Musa’s appointment as part of broader reforms to elevate the state-owned club and align its operations with international best practices.

Kano Pillars, a historic force in Nigerian football, is now eyeing a new era of growth, performance, and continental relevance under Musa’s leadership.
