Air India Crash: Sole Survivor to Receive ₹25 Lakh Compensation
Ramesh Viswashkumar, the only survivor of the tragic Air India plane crash that occurred on June 12, 2025, will receive an interim compensation of ₹25 lakh (about $28,000) from Air India.
The devastating crash, which claimed the lives of 241 passengers, shocked the world and triggered a wave of grief across social media platforms. Investigations into the cause of the accident are still ongoing as more details continue to emerge.
This latest compensation comes in addition to the ₹1 crore (approximately ₦177.6 million or \$85,000) relief earlier pledged by Tata Sons, the parent company of Air India, as part of its support for victims and their families.
Final insurance settlements for those affected will be processed in line with international aviation laws under the Montreal Convention of 1999.
Air India has also committed to providing continuous support to Viswashkumar and the bereaved families as they navigate the aftermath of the tragedy.
