Alex Otti Slams PDP Over Shadow Government.

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has strongly condemned the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for establishing a shadow government, labeling it a treasonous act. Otti expressed his concerns during a meeting with state workers’ union leaders, emphasizing that the PDP’s move demonstrates a lack of understanding of Nigeria’s presidential democracy system.

The PDP had announced the creation of a shadow government in Abia State, including the appointment of a speaker and shadow commissioners.

However, Governor Otti clarified that the concept of a shadow government is not recognized in Nigeria’s presidential democracy and is instead characteristic of parliamentary systems.

Otti instructed the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to address the issue firmly within the confines of the law, highlighting that the establishment of a shadow government equates to creating a government in exile, which lacks legal recognition and amounts to treason.
