AMVCA 2025: ‘Lisabi: The Uprising’, ‘Seven Doors’ Dominate Awards Night.

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday in Lagos, celebrating outstanding achievements in African film and television.

Lisabi: The Uprising and Seven Doors emerged as the evening’s top winners, taking home several prestigious awards.

Best Sound Design: Suspicion

Best Editing: Inkabi – Tongai Furusa

Best Writing in a TV Series: Untying Kantai – Abel Mutua Musyoka

Best Writing in a Movie: Freedom Way – Blessing Uzzi

Best Indigenous Language Film (Southern Africa): Mwizukanji

Best Indigenous Language Film (East Africa): Makosa Di Tangu

Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa): Lisabi: The Uprising

Best Cinematography: The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos – Leo Purman

Best Score/Music: Seven Doors – Tolu Obanro

Best Digital Content Creator: Iyo Prosper

Best Indigenous M-Net Original: Onye Agbata Obim

Best Scripted M-Net Original: My Fairytale Wedding

Best Supporting Actress: Mercy Aigbe – Farmer’s Bride

Best Supporting Actor: Gabriel Afolayan – Inside Life

Special recognitions included the Trailblazer Award to Kayode Kasum and Industry Merit Awards to Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh.
