Anambra Shines in National Pageantry: Wins Miss International & Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Anambra State has solidified its reputation in Nigeria’s beauty pageant scene after making history with two major victories in 2025.

Faith Ekwebenam was crowned Miss International Nigeria 2025, outshining contestants from Lagos, Bauchi, Edo, Cross River, and Nasarawa during the grand finale held on Sunday.

Ekwebenam will now represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant in Tokyo, Japan, on November 27, aiming to showcase her talent and the country’s cultural richness on the global stage.

In a separate but equally prestigious competition hosted in Lagos, Onyinyechi Basil claimed the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 crown, triumphing over strong contenders including Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde.

Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, and Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, also secured top positions in the competition’s final ranking.

The dual victories mark a historic moment for Anambra, as the state now holds Nigeria’s two most coveted international beauty titles.

Pageant experts have described this accomplishment as “unprecedented,” reflecting both the dedication of the contestants and the state’s growing prominence in national pageantry.

As Ekwebenam and Basil prepare to represent Nigeria internationally later this year, excitement and optimism are high, with many Nigerians confident that the country will make a strong impression on the global stage.
