Angela Okorie Breaks Silence on Leaked Mohbad Group Chat: “I Don’t Support Online Drama”
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has addressed the controversy surrounding a leaked WhatsApp group chat related to the late singer Mohbad, distancing herself from the drama and clarifying her position.
The group chat which allegedly featured several Nigerian celebrities was leaked by controversial social media activist VeryDarkMan. Its release sparked widespread speculation and heated online debate about the role of the individuals involved.
Angela Okorie responded via her Instagram Stories, emphasizing that she does not condone gossip or smear campaigns. She explained that she exited the WhatsApp group as soon as she realized the conversation did not align with her values.
“I don’t support online drama,” she stated, stressing her commitment to integrity and fairness.
Addressing claims that her earlier posts were targeted at actress Iyabo Ojo, Angela released a video clarifying that her comments were not about Iyabo but rather another woman who added her to the group.
According to Angela, the woman later called to apologize privately but failed to make a public apology, which she found insincere.
Angela also expressed disappointment over how her words are often misinterpreted, leading to unnecessary conflict.
She reaffirmed her respect for Iyabo Ojo, noting that she has always supported her, and clarified that she still maintains a cordial relationship with Naira Marley despite the backlash he has received in connection to Mohbad’s death.
She concluded by urging the public to stay focused on the real issue justice for Mohbad rather than fueling online conflicts.
“We should be fighting for justice, not each other,” Angela stated.
