APC Defends Tinubu Against Obi’s Criticism, Labels Him a “Solid Achiever”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has responded to former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s recent critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The party characterized Tinubu as a formidable achiever who, during his governorship in Lagos State, turned challenges into opportunities, contrasting this with what they described as Obi’s “dismal legacy” marked by economic stagnation, infrastructural neglect, environmental issues, and religious division.

Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, issued a statement following Obi’s interview, where he accused Tinubu of inadequate economic reform efforts and claimed he could have performed better as president.

Morka emphasized that opposition should recognize the administration’s successes while providing constructive criticism, rather than outright condemnation aimed at political gain.

He highlighted the Tinubu administration’s undeniable progress across various sectors as evidence of strong governance. Under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria has seen improvements in economic indicators, including a positive growth forecast, increased oil production, and advancements in foreign direct investment.

The APC also pointed out the nation’s economic advancements recognized by global institutions, defending Tinubu’s achievements amid Obi’s criticisms and reiterating the party’s commitment to ongoing development in Nigeria.
