APC ELDERS FORUM REBUKES MINISTER UCHE NNAJI’S CRITICISM OF DR. BEN NWOYE
In a robust response to what they perceive as the “misrepresentation of facts and frivolous tantrums” by the Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Uche Nnaji, the leadership of the APC Elders Forum, Enugu State Chapter, has taken a decisive stand in support of their immediate past state chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye.
In a press release issued on Friday and signed by the group’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Charles Ogbu, the APC Elders Forum expressed dissatisfaction with Minister Nnaji’s recent statements regarding Dr. Nwoye’s appointment as Chief of Staff to the Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Enugu State Chapter highlighted the alleged electoral setbacks faced by Minister Nnaji in his polling unit and the lack of support in his ward during the previous election. Dr. Ogbu underscored the importance of considering these electoral realities when evaluating the Minister’s dedication to the APC cause.
Contrary to Minister Nnaji’s dissenting views, the APC Elders Forum emphasized Dr. Ben Nwoye’s commendable contributions to the APC. Dr. Nwoye, as per the statement, played a pivotal role in championing the party’s cause, endorsing national figures like Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. The group credited Dr. Nwoye for his proactive initiatives, such as erecting billboards, organizing radio jingles, and mobilizing grassroots campaigns in support of Tinubu’s electoral triumph.
The press release shed light on alleged negotiations within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by Minister Nnaji on behalf of his younger sibling. This revelation raised questions about the Minister’s allegiance and priorities during a crucial electoral juncture, prompting the APC Elders Forum to call for introspection within the party.
Dr. Charles Ogbu, as the spokesperson for the APC Elders Forum, conveyed the group’s commitment to transparency, dedication, and the core principles of the All Progressives Congress. The statement urged a collective examination of values and commitment expected from party members in influential positions.
As the political saga unfolds, the APC Elders Forum in Enugu State remains resolute in navigating internal complexities while upholding the party’s fundamental values.
The APC Elders Forum further highlighted Dr. Ben Nwoye’s substantial contribution to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s electoral success. Dr. Nwoye’s significant support included the donation of a full duplex for Tinubu’s campaign under the auspices of the Tinubu/Shetimma Project 774.
In contrast, the group pointed out that Chief Uche Nnaji allegedly failed to establish a fitting campaign office for his gubernatorial candidacy. The efforts of Dr. Ben Nwoye, Sen Ken Nnamani, Barr Ifeanyi Nwoga, Chief Emma Eneukwu, Sullivan Chime, Eugene Odoh, Comrade AC Udeh, Comrade Sebastine Bookastro Okafor, and other leaders were credited with ensuring President Tinubu garnered less than 200 votes across the state.
The APC Elders Forum expressed bewilderment at the perceived incongruity of someone allegedly responsible for diminishing the APC’s standing in Enugu State engaging in actions that impact a prominent party figure and the face of the party.
