APC Labels Atiku, El-Rufai as National Threats Over Alleged Hijack of ADC
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai of being a threat to Nigeria’s unity and progress, following their involvement with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to APC, the duo’s alleged attempt to take over the ADC’s constitutional framework reveals their intentions to destabilize the nation’s political landscape.
In a statement signed by Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, the ruling party dismissed El-Rufai’s recent claim that Nigeria would be in danger if President Bola Tinubu is re-elected in 2027. Morka described El-Rufai’s comments as baseless and hypocritical.
He further accused Atiku and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, of abandoning their reformist ideologies after their electoral defeat, only to turn around and attack Tinubu for implementing policies they once supported.
“El-Rufai and Atiku want to do to Nigeria what Atiku did to the PDP,” Morka said. “Their alliance, along with their hijack of the ADC, represents a clear and present danger to the country’s peace and development.”
The APC maintained that President Tinubu remains committed to steering the nation through critical reforms, despite opposition criticism.
