APC Leader Claims Destabilizing PDP is Part of Political Strategy
A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Cletus Obun, has stated that undermining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) forms a key part of his party’s responsibilities.
Obun, who previously served as the chairman of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Cross River State, argued that using political tactics to destabilize opposing parties is an effective strategy. He made these comments on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program.
This statement follows remarks from PDP chieftain Segun Sowunmi, who attributed ongoing issues within the PDP to President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Nyesom Wike as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) last August.
Obun responded by reinforcing the idea that political destabilization is standard practice for competing parties, so long as it does not result in violent disruptions.
He remarked, “If PDP admits that we are successful in infiltrating and destabilizing them, it acknowledges our duty.
Just as it is their responsibility to counter destabilize the APC, this approach is a legitimate political strategy.”
