The recognition honors his distinctive fusion of contemporary and traditional sounds captivating audiences both locally and internationally.
According to the annual report by TurnTable Charts, Asake generated approximately ₦844 million in revenue through streams, radio airplay, television appearances and collaborations. His third studio album, Lungu Boy, released in August 2024, was a significant driver of this success.
The album remained on the Apple Music Official Top 100 Albums chart for 15 weeks and made notable entries on international platforms such as the Billboard 200. Hit singles from the album including “Active,” “Wave,” “MMS,” and “Whine” further solidified his position as a global music force.
Asake’s track “MMS,” a collaboration with Wizkid, garnered a nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, underscoring his increasing international acclaim.
Over the years, he has set records with 14 number-one hits on the TurnTable Charts—the most for any Nigerian artist.
Beyond his music Asake also launched his own imprint, Giran Republic, in 2025, signaling a new phase as an independent artist with global distribution.
