ASATUC Youths Rally Behind Governor Soludo Condemn Assault on NYSC Member

Awka, Anambra State The youth wing of the Anambra State Town Union Council (ASTUC) recently organized a solidarity rally in support of Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

The rally held on August 23, 2025, aimed to commend the Governor for enhancing the security architecture of the state through Operation Udo Ga Chi and to condemn the recent assault on a female NYSC member by security operatives.

Comrade Ken Okoli, President General of ASTUC Youths, addressed the rally emphasizing that the youths and communities have the right to assess the government’s performance.

He praised Operation Udo Ga Chi for making Anambra safer by significantly reducing crimes like kidnapping and robbery. However Okoli condemned the assault incident, urging that those responsible face legal consequences.

Okoli also criticized politicians calling for the disbandment of the security outfit alleging that their motivation was to import thugs for political gain in the upcoming November 8 elections.

He reaffirmed the youths’ commitment to supporting Governor Soludo and the security framework in place calling for unity in maintaining peace.

Receiving the protesters at the Government House, the Chief of Staff, Sir Ernest Ezeajughi commended the youth for their faith and urged political stakeholders to cease politicizing security issues.

He called on all citizens and politicians to support ongoing security efforts to sustain peace across the state.

The rally commenced at Aroma and proceeded through parts of Awka ending at the new Government House with chants and placards expressing solidarity with Governor Soludo and Operation Udo Ga Chi.
