Astronomer Appoints Pete DeJoy as Interim CEO After Andy Byron Resigns Amid Viral Video Scandal

Tech company Astronomer has named Pete DeJoy as its interim Chief Executive Officer following the unexpected resignation of former CEO Andy Byron.

Byron stepped down after a viral video surfaced online, allegedly showing him in an intimate setting with the company’s Head of Human Resources, Kristin Cabot, during a Coldplay concert. The video sparked widespread conversation and led to increased scrutiny of Astronomer’s leadership.

DeJoy, a co-founder of the company and its current Chief Product Officer, has played a critical role in the development and expansion of Astronomer’s data orchestration platform since the company’s founding in 2017.

His leadership roles have included Vice President of Product and Chief Product Officer, giving him deep insight into the company’s operations and future direction.

Astronomer has stated that DeJoy’s appointment is temporary, and a search is underway for a permanent CEO to steer the company forward.
