The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, marked his 65th birthday on Thursday with a solemn visit to the grave of his late mother, Hajiya Rabi Abdullahi, at the Farm Centre Cemetery in Kano.

The prayer session, held in memory of his mother who passed away on November 5, 2022, was attended by top government officials, family members, and Islamic clerics. It formed part of the day’s activities marking the Deputy Governor’s birthday celebration.

According to a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shu’aibu, the visit was a moment of deep reflection for the Deputy Governor, who offered special prayers for the repose of his mother’s soul and for continued peace and prosperity in Kano State.

“My mother remains the foundation of my values and principles. Her discipline, compassion, and faith in God have continued to guide me through every stage of my life,” Gwarzo said after the prayer. “On this special day, I feel it is only right to begin with prayers for her soul, as a reminder of the importance of gratitude, humility, and remembrance.”
