Baba-Ahmed Discusses Tinubu-Shettima Relationship Amid 2027 Election Speculations.

In a recent appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the former Special Adviser on Political Affairs to President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, addressed the current dynamics between the two leaders.

Rumors have been circulating regarding Tinubu potentially overlooking Shettima and considering his replacement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In response, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has labeled these claims as unfounded. Baba-Ahmed, who also resigned from his position, faced allegations from certain groups suggesting his departure stemmed from a belief that Shettima had lost relevance in the administration.

When questioned about the relationship between Tinubu and Shettima, he stated, “I find it odd. I believe these rumors are simply fabricated.”

While he admitted he did not have direct discussions with Tinubu about Shettima, he referenced his conversations with the Vice President, stating, “I don’t think Shettima feels sidelined or believes there is any grievance from Tinubu towards him. Instead, I observed a strong synergy between the President and Vice President.”
