Barcelona Denies Plans to Cut Short Rashford Loan.

Reports suggesting that Barcelona were considering ending Marcus Rashford’s loan spell early and sending him back to Manchester United have been dismissed.

Football journalist Guillem Balague refuted the claims, calling them “absolutely rubbish” and reaffirming that the La Liga champions remain supportive of the England forward.

Speculation arose after Spanish outlet El Nacional claimed Barcelona were unimpressed with Rashford’s performances and might terminate the loan prematurely, a move that could cost the club around £4 million.

Rashford has so far made just three league appearances under Hansi Flick, starting once before being substituted at half-time against Levante.

Balague wrote on social media: “Barca told his representative that they have a lot of confidence in Rashford’s potential and that they believe he will recover as a top player. No more to say, apart from the fact I agree with Gary Lineker and his treatment by some media.”

The England international joined Barcelona in the summer after falling out of favour at Manchester United, where new manager Ruben Amorim relegated him to the ‘bomb squad’.
