Benue PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Francis Atondo ‘Jahman’ Ibya, Passes Away After Brief Illness
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has mourned the loss of its State Youth Leader, Hon. Francis Atondo Ibya, affectionately known as Jahman, who died on August 9, 2025, following a brief illness.
In a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Tim Nyor, the PDP Chairman, Rt. Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, described Ibya’s death as a devastating blow to both the party and the state.
A native of Mbayegh Council Ward in Ushongo Local Government Area, Ibya was widely respected for his unwavering loyalty, dedication, and steadfast commitment to the PDP’s principles.
He was particularly revered for his passionate efforts in mobilising and mentoring young people to engage actively in politics.
“The virtues he embodied and his zeal for youth empowerment will remain an enduring legacy in our political history,” the statement read.
The PDP’s State Working Committee extended heartfelt condolences to Ibya’s family, friends, and associates, pledging their support during this difficult time. Burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family soon.
The party prayed for the repose of his soul and for God’s comfort upon all who mourn him.
