Birthday Celebration with a Purpose: Former Enugu Governor’s Well-Wishers Bring Smiles to Children at Charity Home
In celebration of the 60th birthday of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, supporters of the former Enugu Governor visited Mother Louisa Charity Home.
Adorned in white attire, which is the signature color of the former Governor, the team led by former General Manager of Enugu Signage Board, Ike Ezugwu, donated food items worth millions of Naira to the elated management and children of the home.
In his speech, Ezugwu told the children of the home and the management that the visit is in honor of the former Governor, whom he described as a “humane leader.”
“Our former governor is a leader who derives pleasure from helping the needy, and he has demonstrated this before becoming governor, during his tenure, and even now that he’s no longer in office as the number one citizen of Enugu State.
“He has touched many lives, including ours here, and to mark his birthday, we’re doing what he loves to do.”
He admonished the children at the home to continue praying to God to give the former Governor a long life and grant his silent wishes.
He also expressed delight that the children are in great spirits despite the challenges and thanked their handlers.
A member of the management of the charity home, speaking on behalf of the founder, Mrs. Louisa Ekwe, expressed their delight with the gesture and thanked the supporters of Ugwuanyi and the former governor’s supporters for remembering the downtrodden.
Some of the items donated to them include bags of rice, garri, beans, noodles, juice, groundnut oil, detergents, soaps, diapers, tissues, biscuits, drinks, etc.
