Bishop of Nnewi and Two Priests Survive Ghastly Car Accident in Anambra

The Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye, has been hospitalised following a serious car accident along the Agulu Lake Road in Anambra State.

According to reports, the bishop was travelling from Ukpor to Agulu in the company of two priests when their vehicle was involved in the crash.

All three occupants sustained injuries and were promptly taken to a nearby hospital where they are currently receiving treatment under medical supervision.

Though the exact cause of the accident remains unclear, images circulating on social media show the severely damaged vehicle.

The Catholic community and other well-meaning Nigerians have expressed gratitude for the bishop’s survival and offered prayers for their recovery.

The Catholic Treasure Facebook page confirmed the incident and noted that, despite the crash, no lives were lost a fact that has been met with widespread relief.

Authorities are yet to release an official statement or provide further updates on the investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
