Bishop Oyedepo Vows Nigeria Will Never Become an Islamic State Amid Rising Attacks
Bishop David Oyedepo, a prominent Nigerian cleric, has declared that Nigeria will never fall to extremist ideology, delivering a passionate message during a recent church service.
He assured congregants that the Church in Nigeria is unshakeable, urging members to remain steadfast in the face of rising violence and insecurity across the country.
His statement comes in the wake of several alarming incidents, including the killing of five worshippers during a church service last week and the abduction of 35 villagers, with kidnappers reportedly demanding ₦100 million in ransom.
“Nigeria will never become an Islamic state. Never, Never! The church of Christ in Nigeria is indestructible. The gates of hell cannot prevail against thee,” Oyedepo declared.
The cleric condemned the armed groups responsible for these attacks, invoking divine curses against them and predicting imminent disaster for perpetrators and their sponsors.
“Every perpetrator and their sponsors come under a curse today. When this church prays, God hears. In the camp of the wicked, there shall be catastrophe. Everyone behind it, within the next seven days, they are smelling, they’re stinking,” he added.
Oyedepo’s remarks reinforce his long-standing message of faith, resilience, and divine protection amid ongoing security challenges in Nigeria.
