BREAKING: Outrage as Soldier Allegedly Beats Phone Repairer to Death Over Girlfriend’s Faulty Device in Adamawa

A wave of anger and sorrow has swept across Adamawa State following the brutal killing of a young phone repairer, Alkasum Ibrahim, allegedly at the hands of a Nigerian soldier over a delayed mobile phone repair.

The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday in Mayo-Belwa and has since ignited widespread outrage across social media and among civil rights groups.

According to eyewitness accounts, the late Alkasum was attacked by Lance Corporal Ahmada A., who flew into a violent rage after his girlfriend complained about a delay in fixing her phone.

The soldier reportedly stormed Alkasum’s workshop and viciously beat him until he collapsed. The young technician later died from his injuries.

“This is a heartbreaking tragedy. The victim did nothing but try to earn a living,” said Nuruddeen Abubakar, a local resident who witnessed the attack. “No one deserves to die over something so trivial.”

Adding to public frustration, the soldier allegedly fled the scene and remains at large. Community members and human rights organizations are now calling on the Nigerian Army to ensure justice is served.

“This is not just a case of assault it’s cold-blooded murder,” a statement from a local rights group declared. “The military must hand over the suspect for civilian prosecution immediately.”

The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the incident, with spokesperson SP Suleiman Nguroje stating that military authorities are conducting an internal investigation and are expected to transfer the suspect to police custody.

The family of Alkasum Ibrahim, now shattered by the loss of their son, is demanding swift justice. Advocacy groups are also urging the Nigerian government to tackle the rising trend of military brutality and impunity.

As calls for accountability intensify, Nigerians are left grappling with yet another painful reminder of unchecked power and its devastating consequences on innocent lives.
