BREAKING: Trump Revokes Visas of 80,000 Foreign Nationals, Including Nigerians
The United States government has revoked the visas of about 80,000 foreign nationals, including a significant number of Nigerians, as part of a major review targeting individuals linked to criminal and security violations.
In a statement released on Thursday, the U.S. Department of State confirmed that the action aligns with President Donald Trump’s renewed immigration and national security directives, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to protecting American citizens.
The statement described the move as a continuation of Trump’s promise to put “the safety and interests of the American people first.”
“This action is another example of promises made and promises kept,” the department said. “We remain committed to ensuring that only law-abiding individuals are allowed to enter and remain in the United States.”
According to official figures, visa revocations were issued across multiple categories of offenses:
- 16,000 individuals for driving under the influence (DUI),
- 12,000 for assault,
- 8,000 for theft,
while several others were linked to terrorism, overstaying, and threats to public safety.
