Burna Boy Announces Conversion to Islam, Says He ‘Just Felt Peace’
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that he has embraced Islam after years of personal reflection and spiritual exploration.
The Afro-fusion star made the announcement during a Twitch livestream with US streamer PlaqueBoyMax, where he discussed his upbringing, faith journey, and the reasons behind his decision to convert.
Burna Boy explained that he was raised in a Christian home but began questioning aspects of life and faith as he grew older.
This search for deeper meaning ultimately led him to Islam. He said, “I was born into Christianity because that’s what my parents practiced. But as I got older, I started to research more about life and faith. That was when I found Islam.”
He emphasized that his decision was driven by personal conviction rather than external pressure, adding, “It was something that came naturally to me. I just felt a connection and peace.”
Following his revelation, social media erupted with reactions as fans shared their thoughts and opinions on the singer’s spiritual journey.
