Candidates for council chairmanship selected in Enugu PDP across all 17 LGAs.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State has elected its chairmanship candidates for the upcoming local council election in October 2024.

The party also elected its councillorship candidates for the state’s electoral wards earlier in the week. Governor Peter Mbah congratulated the winners and praised party members for their peaceful conduct during the primary elections.

The chairmanship primary election saw candidates clear the polls in most places after weeks of consensus-building. Many aspirants declared support for the winners and urged their supporters to vote for them.

The winners include candidates from various local government areas such as Enugu East, Nsukka, Enugu South, Enugu North, Nkanu West, Aninri, Awgu, Ezeagu, Oji River, Udi, Igboeze North, Igboeze South, Udenu, Igbo Etiti, and Uzo Uwani.

The elected chairmanship candidates, Okechukwu Edeh and Obiora Obeagu, expressed gratitude and promised to support the governor’s rural development initiatives if elected.
