Chief Bisi Akande Speaks on Relationship with President Tinubu

Chief Bisi Akande, the former interim chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has shared his thoughts on his relationship with President Bola Tinubu.

Akande stated that despite occasionally visiting Abuja, he rarely meets with the President.

He expressed satisfaction with Tinubu’s ascension to the presidency, revealing that his initial goal was for a Yoruba man to become president, and Tinubu was his preferred choice.

Akande recounted how Tinubu reached out to him from France, expressing concern over his absence in Abuja.

Upon Tinubu’s return, Akande met with him and explained that he had returned to his village in Ila, Osun State, as he didn’t want to take on any ministerial role or other position.

When asked if he advises the President, Akande dismissed the notion, stating that he wouldn’t interfere with Tinubu’s administration.

However, he acknowledged the presidency’s demands and expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, believing he is steering the country in the right direction.
