Ciara Impressed by Lagos’ Cleanliness, Says City Has Changed
American singer and dancer, Ciara Princess Wilson, has expressed admiration for the remarkable transformation she witnessed in Lagos during her recent visit for Lagos Fashion Week.
The Grammy-winning star, who has visited Nigeria in the past, said she was amazed at how clean and organized Lagos has become compared to her previous trips when the city’s roads were “dirty and congested.”
“I’m so happy to be here and really glad. No, this is not my first time I know Lagos. When I used to land, I would see dirty roads, but now it’s all clean and has changed,” Ciara said, commending the city’s improved infrastructure and the government’s efforts in urban renewal.
Her remarks sparked widespread reactions online. Many Nigerians lauded her for recognizing Lagos’ ongoing development, while others urged her to explore other parts of the city to get a complete picture.
One social media user wrote, “Finally, someone global recognizes Lagos’ transformation. Welcome back, Ciara!” while another added, “Ciara needs to visit Mushin or Ajegunle to understand Lagos properly.”
Beyond her comments, Ciara’s visit underscores Lagos’ growing reputation as a center for fashion, culture, and international tourism, further positioning the city as a top destination for global events and celebrities.
