Cole Palmer Cleared to Play as Chelsea Prepare for Manchester United Clash
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that midfielder Cole Palmer is fit to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The Italian coach said the rest of the squad’s fitness will be evaluated following today’s final training session.
Speaking at a pre-match briefing, Maresca explained that the team returned from Munich only yesterday after their midweek Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, meaning he must carefully assess players’ readiness.
“Cole is okay, but we have some doubts with other players. We’ll see after today’s training,” he said.
Maresca also confirmed that Marc Guiu, recently recalled from his loan at Sunderland following Liam Delap’s injury, could feature in the match. “Marc is back because we intend to use him.
He is a talented player, and while he can still improve, we know what he offers on the field,” Maresca added.
Chelsea will be looking to bounce back in the Premier League after their recent European setback as they take on Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United side.
