Cubana Chief Priest Warns Tinubu: Release Nnamdi Kanu or Risk Losing South-East Votes in 2027

Cubana Chief Priest has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu, cautioning that the ruling party could lose significant political support in Nigeria’s South-East region if Nnamdi Kanu remains imprisoned ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The socialite’s warning follows the recent court ruling that sentenced Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment.

In a detailed social media statement, he stressed that Kanu’s continued detention has fueled deep resentment across the South-East, potentially undermining the president’s chances of securing meaningful votes from the zone.

He criticized South-East ministers for failing to convey the true public sentiment to the presidency and questioned the effectiveness of some political figures in rallying grassroots support.

According to him, many so-called loyalists lack the influence required to win over the region due to widespread anger over Kanu’s situation.

The Cubana Chief Priest urged President Tinubu to reassess his advisers and allies, emphasizing that only the release of Nnamdi Kanu could restore trust and secure electoral support.

He also highlighted South-East leaders who still enjoy grassroots credibility, naming Abia State Governor Alex Otti as a key figure capable of influencing public opinion.
