Afrobeats megastar Davido has broken his silence following VeryDarkMan’s (VDM) viral claim that the singer did not offer him financial support during a recent visit to Lagos.
VDM had publicly stated in a video that Davido did not pay for his hotel stay or flight, contrary to widespread speculation.
In response, Davido currently on his global 5Alive Tour left a now-deleted comment under a post discussing the controversy.
The cryptic message read:
“VDM if u like abuse my whole life I no fit fight u.”
The comment sparked a flurry of mixed reactions online, with some interpreting it as a sarcastic jab and others as a show of maturity and restraint.
VDM quickly replied by quoting Davido’s message and clarifying his own position:
“@davido SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT. If you see am as insult, the aluta continua. Love always from my end (I no be anybody boy still)!”
He insisted that his statement wasn’t made out of animosity but to correct the public narrative.
