Delta Woman in Tears as Stranger Erects Building on Her Purchased Land
A woman in Delta State has taken to social media to express her shock and frustration after discovering that a stranger had started constructing a building on the plot of land she bought and developed years ago.
The woman, identified on TikTok as @gbemretonia, shared a viral video showing an ongoing construction project complete with a new foundation and borehole on the property she claimed ownership of.
She said she had personally handled the drainage work and other developments on the land after purchasing it, making the discovery deeply upsetting.
According to her, the incident occurred at Immigration Estate, where she unexpectedly found that someone else had taken over and begun new construction.
In a tone laced with sarcasm, she thanked the unidentified builder for “adding a foundation and borehole” to her land.
The video has since gained widespread attention online, sparking public outrage and renewed debate over land fraud, double sales, and poor property documentation in Nigeria.
Many social media users sympathized with her and advised her to take legal action, while others suggested that the new builder might also have fallen victim to fraudulent land agents who sell the same property to multiple buyers.
