Diddy Acquitted of Sex Trafficking, Convicted on Lesser Charges in Federal Trial.

Music icon Sean “Diddy” Combs has been cleared of the most severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, in a closely watched federal case. However, he was found guilty on two lesser felony counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution.

After eight weeks of intense proceedings in Manhattan, a jury of eight men and four women deliberated for over 13 hours before reaching a split verdict.

While Combs was acquitted of operating a criminal sex ring, the court found him guilty of violating the federal Mann Act in two separate incidents involving a woman known as “Jane” and singer Casandra Ventura.

The convictions each carry a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison. Combs’ legal team argued that the government’s case relied heavily on weak, uncorroborated testimony and exaggerated claims, despite acknowledging his checkered past.

The trial cast a shadow over Combs’ decades-long career, revisiting disturbing claims that the hip-hop mogul used intimidation, control, and wealth to manipulate women for personal gratification. The government alleged a broader criminal conspiracy, which the jury ultimately did not uphold.

Combs had consistently maintained his innocence and appeared visibly emotional as the verdicts were read, showing gratitude toward the jury for the partial acquittal.

Although Diddy faces possible prison time for the two convictions, the dismissal of the most serious charges marks a legal victory for the 55-year-old producer. His sentencing date has not yet been set, but his attorneys are pushing for his release pending sentencing, describing him as not a flight risk.
