Don Jazzy Reveals Truth Behind UK Car Impound Incident
Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has finally addressed a long-circulating story about a police incident in the United Kingdom from the early stages of his career.
The tale resurfaced recently after his former collaborator, Bankulli, recounted the episode at an event, claiming Don Jazzy had allegedly fled the scene following a car accident in London. Bankulli said Don Jazzy removed his car’s license plate and left because towing it would have been more expensive than the repairs.
According to Bankulli:
“Don Jazzy was trying to make it in London when he had an accident after falling asleep while driving. He abandoned the car and removed the plate because towing it would have cost more than repairing it. Look at him now; he owns multiple cars.”
The story raised concern among fans online, with one X user jokingly asking if a decades-old case could be reopened if Don Jazzy visited the UK.
However, Don Jazzy set the record straight, assuring fans that the story was misrepresented. He explained that he waited for the police, who administered a breathalyser test and confirmed he was not intoxicated. His car was later impounded, and he left it because retrieving it would have cost more than its value.
